Friends of mine ask me all the time, “What is it like building homes for a living?” After getting the confused look off my face, I almost always reflect back and smile; I really love what I do.
Reflecting on the past few months, I have been fortunate enough to build a home for a Vietnam Veteran who had the identical job as my father in Vietnam. They have already reached out to one another and I am sure will become fast friends. It is so fun how the Universe connects people together. I also just completed a home for a first time home building couple, they have one amazing baby (Levi) and their second is on the way. Not only have do they love their home; I was able to get them them in a couple weeks before our scheduled finish date. We currently have 2 presold homes under construction in our subdivision in Yamhill (Rowland Creek Estates) for 2 awesome couples, as well as one spec home for sale in the same subdivision. I just purchased a lot in downtown Hillsboro and I have the opportunity to work with a dedicated team, developing the perfect home or homes for the site. I am getting ready to close on what will be a 20-unit townhome project in Sellwood, which is going to be fun to develop and build starting this fall. And as if that isn’t enough we have some other really exciting projects that we are in final negotiations on.
After really thinking about what I do, although I develop, build and negotiate deals for my clients, building homes is just our widget. Building relationships and managing relationships is what I do for a living. I have some of the best sub contractors around, amazing partners in projects, great Realtors and a group who supports me that is second to none. I am truly blessed and would be honored to be a part of your building project. Whether that means giving you advice, helping you develop the property, design the home, build the home or just help you get a little more comfortable with the process.
